According to local residents, there were several explosions in the area of the mall. The mayor of Kyiv said that rescuers immediately arrived at the scene.
Due to shelling, a fire started on the territory of the mall, which was extinguished after a few hours. The fire damaged the building of the center and cars parked nearby. The fire was extinguished by 11 vehicles and 63 firefighters.

At 4 in the morning, the State Emergency Service reported that 4 people were killed and 1 more was injured due to the Russian attack.
Subsequently, the Prosecutor General's Office clarified that the number of victims had risen to eight. Because of the Russian attack, law enforcement officers launched an investigation into the violation of the laws and customs of war associated with premeditated murder (part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
