Metropolitan Epiphanius laid a stone in a new church in Kyiv. The church in honor of the holy martyrs Boris and Gleb is planned to be built in the metropolitan district of the Varshavsky housing complex, according to the "Apostrof TV".
"The complex will probably not be complete without a temple, because the temple will be a spiritual cell where people will be able to satisfy their spiritual needs. If someone has any spiritual problems or other problems, he can come and pray, light a candle, ask God for health and future success, so this is a really important day, because another temple has been laid for the construction of our Ukrainian local church," Metropolitan Epifaniy, head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, said
The primate of the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine laid a memorial capsule with the names of the founders of the future church in the foundation.
Academician Boris Romanyuk and Co-founder of the Stolitsa Group Vlada Molchanova will be the patrons of the construction.
"I dreamed that a beautiful temple would grow on this place for the residents of this beautiful district, and finally the first stage of the dream came true today. I believe that the spiritual life is our most important life. Unfortunately, our everyday problems make us forget this. But should something bad occur, “our only hope is God” said the founder of the temple, Vlada Molchanova.
The consecration of the foundation was also attended by Archbishop Agapit of Vyshgorod, Rector of the Parish Archimandrite Anthony and other representatives of the clergy. According to Metropolitan Epiphany, the construction of the temple is a historic event. Its erection is not only a manifestation of love for God, but also for neighbors, who will draw inspiration and grace here.
"We, as people, collect treasures here on earth, that is, we invest in the temporary, in what we see, in what brings us comfort. But we must remember that this life is fleeting and will come to an end. Therefore, we need to invest in our future eternal life" - said the primate of the OCU, Metropolitan Epiphanius.
The church on the laid stone is planned to be built within a few years. According to the clergy, the building will become an ornament and an Orthodox center not only for the district, but for the entire capital.
